Varies quite a bit, But this time of year, I try to stay warm.
I am old and feel the cold.
I update and maintain a few websites for free.
Mostly built on joomla, But I am playing with humhub as an option for one of the clubs.
But like you, I enjoy interaction with people from all over.
That has changed a bit since the influx from twitter.
Someone on here described it as being like Glastonbury arriving at your picnic.

Here winter basically means 30C in day while 20C in night. Not really much cold, definitely no snow.
Ohh Joomla, I have never used any CMS till yet. I was thinking about trying out Drupal 🤔
This HumHub thing looks cool, will keep it in my notes most likely gonna need to be using in one of my future projects.
Yeah love interaction, I started sending hello's to the people who I saw were tooting daily but weren't getting any interaction
The twitter migration thing I think just like previous migrations would end soon. Most folks will create accounts here, post for some days, then forget about Mastodon and go back Twitter to rant about Twitter

2:. I swapped to Joomla.
I had tried Wordpress, but that was a very long time ago and it appeared to be a simple blogging script.
So I stuck with Joomla. having got familiar with it,
I see no reason to change .
Simply a matter of choice.
I am aware of Drupal, but know nothing about it.
The reason I am looking at humhub is the simple way admins can add users to spaces and groups.
I have a use for that level of access.
Although I could probably create that in joomla. 🤔

Well I develop sites from scratch mostly with Python-Django, Microservices with Golang, a little bit of React, etc.
Currently at work, we are looking into WebRTC based Video conferencing tech.
I wanted to look into CMS cause setting up authentication, security, and alot of other stuffs takes most of the time in developing from base up. Thought CMS frameworks could help in rapidly getting a website ready.
What has your experience been with CMS and Joomla? cause many complain that CMS adds too many unwanted things to the site, its too much heavy, etc

There is some truth in that statement, CMS seems to me to provide a simple update or content creation facility for site managers and admins etc.
Joomla has made many of the plugins core now and improved load times considerably.
The temptation to add " toys" ( components, modules and plugins ) is very strong, and I am guilty of that.
https://tbpcsg.org has more that it should, but I am still making changes to that.
Not super fast, but acceptable I think.

1: Joomla, Wordpress or Drupal ?
When I started putting a website together for my business, I used MS frontpage and some basic html.
It was fine, but I kept seeing info about cms etc.
I took a brief look and couldnt get my head round it, so went back to html.
Then I had a heart attack and was instructed to sit and do nothing for four weeks.
So I took a look at Mambo.
At that time I had a shared server and could auto install and play with it.
Mambo forked to Joomla ...
