@peterdrake depends on the agency. For SRFECC E-engine T-truck R- heavy rescue BC-battalion chief WT-water tender there are others but those are the most commonly seen
The numbers indicate station, engine type, ambulance operator. There are designators for command staff, investigation/arson, and chaplains.
Other agencies have other designations.
