Inside dirt on that middle-of-the-night police alert a couple of days ago:
"The overnight emergency alert was intended for very few people, in a very small area of the city where there was a temporary Police shelter-in-place advisory. For reasons currently being investigated, the message was transmitted inadvertently to people across the city."
@peterdrake Guess they spared no expense on that alert system? 🙄

@HumToTable Hey, it's better than a false "incoming missile" alert.
My contact says, "In my nearly six years with PBEM this is the first time I am aware of it going wrong, which is actually remarkable considering how frequently they are sent."
