Today’s episode of Liv’s Hot Takes About Board Games: tokens in games that have a different value printed on the back (e.g. a coin token that’s 1 on one side and 3 on the other) should be banned, because it’s too easy to accidentally flip one (or more!) without realising and have no idea how many you’re meant to have

Also trying to work out how to give yourself a specific number of coins by flipping 1s into 3s or whatever is just too much brain power for something that shouldn’t really matter

@olivvybee How do you feel about tracks where the position of a cube determines the value? Bumping those is even easier than flipping a token.

Fancier games have divots in the tracks to prevent this.

@peterdrake My game of paladins of the west kingdom last week agrees with you, after I dropped something and my influence and faith tokens went flying across the table… maybe I could 3d print a little overlay for those tokens :blobbee_think:

Dual layer trackers are definitely my favourite, but I honestly don’t mind using cardboard tokens as long as they’re all unique values and not double sided
