Amsterdam votes to ban cruise ships
A political party cited pollution and crowding as reasons for relocating a cruise terminal away from the city
[good! cruise ships are polluting, horrible for climate change conservation, a bad use of resources, bad for the seas, garbage spewing--and just idiotic]

@JohnShirley2023 Venice needs this even more, but can never muster the gumption to quite do it.
Also it's just creepy and unsettling to be in the street of a late medieval or Renaissance-era city and see a cruise ship towering over the buildings from several kilometers away.
