@jackoneill Hm? SnappyMail is PHP. It only uses javascript on the client. I chose it as the best of bad options; it seems well-maintained and competently done, and sticking it behind platform authentication removes most of PHP's legendary attack surface.
@jackoneill Oh, one thing I forgot to mention: it conforms to a peculiar prejudice of mine: It doesn't use an additional database. I've written mail clients in the past; between maildir, imap and the filesystem itself there really isn't a need for a database, and I've always found it silly that people never seem to be able to code a PHP site of any description without building it around MySQL, or sometimes sqlite or postgres, no matter what the task; because that's what the tutorials always say to do.
Sure, databases are often indispensible. But when they *are* dispensible, dispense with them already.
