After 2,000 years of Catholicism, Pope Francis today approved, Catholic priests can give blessings to same-sex couples, but still stops short of allowing same-sex marriage in churches.

While I welcome any improvement to equality, I sure hope we will not have to wait another 2,000 years, before the Catholic church accepts what 37 countries have already accepted by law.

If your God does not love a person, because that person is gay, I am not too impressed with your God.

@randahl None of it addresses the silliness that yesterday stated with incontrovertible authority that God hates these things, today they say God's sort of okay with it, and tomorrow (one hopes) they'll say that it's all just lovely.

But they somehow never get around to explaining how or when God changed His mind -- or even admit to believing that He does -- let alone show you a copy of the memo He presumably sent them.

I mean, golly, one might almost suppose the whole thing's made up and they're winging it as they go.
