The project of of the afternoon was a direct message view that look like a proper conversation view. All in #swiftui, it was a pleasure to do. Of course it needs some polish like bounce as you scroll etc… but it’s already submitted and in review by Apple for the 1.0.7.
@dimillian This seems like it will be a big help. Right now the thing that drives me most crazy about mastodon generally is when my "direct messages" are mixed in with timelines. I have to triple-check every time to make sure I didn't accidentally post something publicly.
I *never* want to see direct messages in my Home timeline. I can't imagine anyone every wanting to.
Having messages look like conversations seems like a great boon to avoid panic. 😀
@dimillian A step in the right direction is still good. I'm digging things so far, I'm confident you'll do something good.
@pwinn But for now this view will only be enabled if you access the message from the messages tab. Not from the timeline. Maybe later yes! But also I want to make DM in the timeline more proeminent.
