#REPowerEU plan aims to reduce our dependence on Russian gas by 2/3 by the end of this year and end it by 2027.

To achieve our energy independence, we need 210€ billion of additional investment by 2027.

It's a smart investment in our security and independence.

At min 0:54 you state "... and increasing bio-methane production".

This will likely cause competition for farmland. Better would be to create methanol (and not only H2) from renewable electrical energy.

Biomethane doesn't necessarily compete with farmland since it could theoretically be produced with agricultural waste.
However, most of current production techniques rely on first generation feedstock, thus the danger is quite high.
Having stricter rules about those kind of productions (for example a minimum percentage of second generation feedstock to be used in production) might however favour the development of new production plants with techniques that impact less on food production.
