@rrb @stephlamy @spaf the speed of the arrests isn't really what matters. Hitler was jailed promptly after the Beer Hall Putsch. Fidel Castro was jailed promptly after the 26th of July attack on the Mocada Barracks.

Garland's pace may prove to be wiser if he's able to act before a next coup *and* avoid having the prosecution of his opponents be used as a rallying cry if persecution.

I sincerely hope you are right. In the meantime, if his pace means waiting until after 2024 one has to wonder if the incoming Republican AG will continue the investigation. It would be nice to remain a democracy.
