Now Musk is saying if Apple and Google block Twitter on their app stores, presumably for failure to moderate hate speech and for safety, he will just create a new phone.
So it’s going well, right?
@georgetakei neat trick getting into the OS and mobile hardware game as well when he can't build hardware that doesn't grenade and isn't fiendishly expensive. On top of a parts crisis.
@reprapryn @georgetakei Even if he could create such a phone and make it cheap enough that his target audience could afford it, how does it work without an app store / play store ecosystem? Are people supposed to carry two phones, one for all the stuff they need for everyday life, work, and family, and another just for Twitter?
Does he expect Google to port Gmail to his phone platform?
Of course, everyone will still be able to access Twitter from any phone's browser, but that's clumsy.
@shuttersparks @georgetakei I was already using Twitter from browser if only to protect my mental health.
They really don't like that, the seratonin straw needs to be big and always in to satisfy the investors.
But yeah, I fully expect them to do some lame side loading nonsense or licensing Tizen or something. Since chances of him going back now is nill. Can't embarrass himself in front of the tech bros
