The first one is the hardest. I still remember mine. My hands don't sweat, nice and dry. But not that time. I literally left drips and puddles of sweat on the table that all came from my hands. Hahahaha. It was crazy. It was intense.
@shuttersparks ha! I don’t think there’s any amount of practice that will calm your nerves during your first #CW contact. It’s the first of what will be many QSO’s!
@W0ABE No, there isn't. The very hardest part is getting up the courage to do it at all. There's always an excuse to put it off until later. It's like the opposite of quitting smoking. Your mind can come up with a thousand excuses not to do it. Haha.
But I can assure you it's worth it to begin, and make the first few dozen contacts, and realize you can actually do it. There is so much fun waiting for you.
CW is a blast, and very useful, but it has the steepest learning curve of anything I know, which puts people off.
