So I eye balled some thermite... 😅
Took a little bit to ignite due to being too lean or rich but it eventually made a molten puddle. :D
@notpike Not a good place for that pocket lighter to be. (Some welders have to learn this the hard way.)

@notpike Uh, well, in the pocket is exactly how welders learn the hard way. Tiny particles (and larger particles) of molten metal fly everywhere including into your shoes (quite exciting) and into your pocket where the lighter is, necesitating a lot of pain and a stay in the hospital.
Pocket lighters need to be far away from sparky things like welding and thermite.
