I'm on Channels TV in #Nigeria momentarily to talk about all the Trump trials and tribulations. Livestream: https://www.channelstv.com/live
@w7voa I like the radio behind you in the photo. ;-)
@shuttersparks It's an antique Crosley from my hometown of Cincinnati.
@w7voa @shuttersparks Normally I'm a little annoyed by such props, but I figure you know actually know about it, even including how it works.
(Does it still work?)
@kentborg @w7voa I'll bet it does. If not, it can certainly be fixed. Back in 2018 I restored a 1925 Radiola 20. https://kw2p.shuttersparks.net/the-radiola-20-a-restoration/
I started out with a crystal radio in 1958 and then became a serious shortwave listener in 1963 using a Philips Philetta. I wish I still had it. "Real" radios glow, warm your hands on a cold night, and smell wonderful. ;-)
@kentborg @shuttersparks @w7voa
Oooh-oooh, that smell!
@shuttersparks @w7voa I'm old enough to remember that smell.
