I’m old enough to remember when smoking (and smoke) was everywhere, and the idea that smokers might ever be asked or made to stop was seen as absurd. Many kids (including me) got horrible bronchitis every single year and had other sorts of breathing problems all the time. Many parents (and other adults) died early.

@histoftech Yup. I'm 70, and oddly, I was just talking about this tonight, and the fact that here in West Virginia, it's still the same as in the 1960s. Everybody smokes, everybody assumes that you smoke.

@shuttersparks @histoftech Almost heaven, amirite? (actually very sad. West Virginia still has chemical valley and mountaintop mining to contend with)
