Dunno who needs to hear this, but people are still dying of #covid. A family friend just passed after catching it a couple weeks ago.
Please mask up and talk to the mainstream, more trusting people in your life who think they're invincible because they got vaccinated a couple times. They seem to be the ones hurting the most this round and are generally unaware of the risk of organ damage and long covid.
@abbynormative There is a ton on Mastodon about the importance of masking, but I don't see nearly enough about the importance of getting the bivalent booster. Only 20% or so got it, meaning most only got shots based on OG COVID, with little protection against modern strains. If anyone reading this hasn't gotten it, go get it.

I got the latest booster a couple of months ago but continued to mask up, assuming that I can still catch it.
@godzero @not2b @abbynormative Yup. Got my latest booster at the end of November. 4 weeks later, caught my second bout with Covid. (First was two years ago). I'm over it and testing negative again.
I'm guessing it was the JN.1 variant that's surging right now. It's too new for the boosters to cover.
