Yes. One would think. This cheese was, however, green and very fuzzy. I cut the outside off and just ate the inside where it was not fuzzy, but it tasted very bitter, so death is most likely imminent.

I'm not sure there is such a thing unless those pink colored bacteria get a foothold. That's not good. But they only affect soft wet cheeses like Mozzarella. I suspect the molds and funguses that make for yummy cheese are actually good for you.

@HCBunny As an aside, I'm old and was raised by Old School Germans. We ate a wide array of weird cheeses and I developed a love for, um, "aged" cheese. Well, my dad and I, anyway. My mother wasn't so thrilled and constantly complained how our cheeses were stinking up her refrigerator. Hahaha.
