Conservatives will tell you that fact is fact, truth is objective, critical theory is nonsense, and post-modernism is wrong, then deny your scientific data because it “seems wrong” and doesn’t fit their pre-existing worldview.
@11112011 some of them, yeah. There were a few reports on the news about right wing folk secretly going out to get the vaccine but still talking shit online.
But looking at vaccination percentage in some parts of the world, there are still lots who are honestly not getting it.
@11112011 it’s like, back in the day people would post online about how they owned so many guns and were gonna shoot up their school, and 99% of them were just talking shit, but they convinced the remaining 1% of idiots to actually go do it. I guess that’s still happening. The ivermectin stuff is very suspect. Goading people into self-dosing weird drugs is very much a good way to fuck with people.
But there are also a lot of people who have a legitimately self-centered worldview and are honestly fucking things up, not posturing.
