Here’s an aspect to the collapse of Afghanistan that isn’t getting much play even in dissident circles: I left the US again about two weeks into Obama’s first term because there was tax-free money available for the taking doing dumb shit all over the world. I voted for Ron Paul solely on the strength of his get out of the wars policy. I didn’t care about the rest of it at all. I missed all the slow burn of the Obama ratchet. I returned around mid-2015 when I had to fly into Baltimore and due to a series of delays in follow-on flights I was stuck in the city. In mid-2015. Like I said, I missed the slow burn of the time; going from mid-2000s America straight to Baltimore riots without imbibing any intervening propaganda pushes launched me directly into “let god sort them out.”

I know of one guy who hasn’t set foot in the US since 2002. I know of hundreds, maybe thousands more, that haven’t for more than a few weeks a year in a decade or longer. Those guys are coming now, they have been in a stasis chamber of 2000s America for a long time. They didn’t get the slow roll on drag queen story hour, BLM, all the other shit. They’re going to feel mighty cool in the near future.
@skells I have some doubts that the Taliban have an interest in keeping NATO personnel on payroll nor CENTCOM keep them around to work in Afghanistan.

@stoa oh seen, didn't realise you meant Americans living in Afghanistan.

Is it a significant number of people out there compared to the rest of the US population?
