Friends, the [insert name] book club is close to its first group read announcement. But we need a name first. Please use this thread for ~~shitposting~~ brainstorming names. Here, I’ll start:

Looting Stage Book Club

Illiterate Glowers Book Club

Friendly Tibetan Book Club Forum

Jin Roh & Friends Book Club

A poll will follow.

@Leyonhjelm We're still thinking of a name for the book club which you can find in this thread. Have a book chosen called Thucydides - The war of the Peloponnesians and the Athenians from Cambridge. Interested?

@sim

Could be interesting, any particular translation, or is there only one from Cambridge?

@7 @MK2boogaloo @laurel @skells @fluffy

@Leyonhjelm @sim @7 @fluffy @laurel @skells we can change it if everyone agrees here, my friend @laurel just think that it is the best version out there. Anyway if you want to join please help us pick a name for the club.

@MK2boogaloo

I don't have any opinion on the translation as I've never read it.

I'll think about names. Lesendienst is all I have so far

@MK2boogaloo

Sorry misspelled Lesedienst

@7 @fluffy @laurel @sim @skells

@Leyonhjelm @7 @fluffy @laurel @sim @skells anyone has other ideas? I will close it in 3 hours and by then we will start voting for the name.

@Leyonhjelm @7 @fluffy @laurel @sim @skells alright, voting time. Now we will vote for the name of our book club, you can only pick one so think twice before voting for something ridiculous.

@MK2boogaloo @7 @laurel @skells @sim @fluffy @Leyonhjelm I am kind of split between Illiterate Glowers and AIDS

@hrast @7 @Leyonhjelm @fluffy @laurel @sim @skells you want to join in too?

@MK2boogaloo @7 @laurel @skells @sim @fluffy @Leyonhjelm Yes.

@hrast @7 @Leyonhjelm @fluffy @laurel @sim @skells cool, FYI we're going to read Thucydides as our first book.

@MK2boogaloo @7 @laurel @skells @sim @fluffy @Leyonhjelm I am aware, I've read the thread. It would be silly if I barged in without even knowing what's this about.
Thucydides: The War of the Peloponnesians and the Athenians, Cambridge Edition

@hrast @7 @Leyonhjelm @fluffy @laurel @sim @skells hahaha that's great, well after deciding on our names we can commence. In this case tomorrow.

@hrast @7 @Leyonhjelm @fluffy @laurel @sim @skells >tfw many people choose AIDS

Cmon gentlemen, you guys are better than this there's still time to vote.

@MK2boogaloo @7 @laurel @hrast @skells @fluffy @Leyonhjelm Maybe shouldn't have chosen the shitposting answers as an option. That is gonna turn people off the club. As amusing as they are for suggestions. I do want this to be something that succeeds.

@sim @7 @Leyonhjelm @fluffy @hrast @laurel @skells you're right, I'm sorry. Let's redo the poll.

@MK2boogaloo @7 @laurel @skells @sim @fluffy @Leyonhjelm Democracy is a spook, and this is clearly a meme pool vulnerable to drive-by voting.
Just like, pick a name and it's good.
