It wasn't a "coup." Yes, western intelligence was involved, (big fucking surprise), but for those of us who've lived in Ukraine since '14 we can assure you that the vast majority of Ukrainians supported ousting Yanukovych for betraying the reason he was elected - to bring UA closer to Europe/US, not Russia. Most Ukrainians wanted to be more capitalist, and libertarian, and less authoritarian and under Putin's thumb.
