"Freight rates are almost back to square one"

is CPI === inflation?

If so, then is """inflation""" transitory?

if so, does the _Fed's_ QE do what we thought it was doing?

re: "Freight rates are almost back to square one"

@skells the chart is showing prices for shipping from China to US rapidly decreasing as ports get unclogged and the goods are flowing... into warehouses, where retailers are running firesales(??) because they modeled customer demand based off lockdown + stimmy checks and whaddya know, they turned the wheel a bit too hard

At least that's one way of seeing things

re: "Freight rates are almost back to square one"

@harblinger I'm just mouthing off, tbh the last few years have shown just how resilient modern civilization is and I think the vandals underestimated what even a fiat-hamstrung capitalist system can achieve

not celebrating just yet though

re: "Freight rates are almost back to square one"

@skells I don't see any cause for celebration either x.x

just one of the things happening in a long line of happenings
