When hacking becomes too easy, I think it means our general safety guidelines are too weak. Which not mean we should ban them, but try to update our guidelines.
Also, one thing I have about embedded systems (which might be stereotypes) is that they are not safe in general. Especially those IoT or smart devices working silently in your home. Which are just good enough to work, and also good enough to put a hole in your security measures. (Don't know about others, but brands in China generally don't care about security in their early years)
