After the last upgrade our black-and-white laser printer refused to print saying it's out of yellow ink.
@EricLawton Our printer is 20 years old (an HP, from the times they were not evil), We have a 15 years old backup printer. They work because they can't connect to the Internet.

Since nobody else in the house has printed anything this year, they send stuff to me to print, I really should just plug my printer into USB and turn off its WiFi.

@szescstopni have you tried pouring a cup of coffee over the printer to see if the error message disappears?

I don't use our aging printer much, but it keeps telling me that there's a firmware update waiting.
I suspect that it's to brick the printer because none of the ink is Canon.
So I'm not going to press that button, ever.
