One thing that is under appreciated in the OpenAI saga is that Microsoft guaranteeing all the employees jobs is what gave their threats to quit teeth. This was pivotal in the board capitulating.
When I say Satya Nadella is a wartime CEO that gives off peacetime CEO vibes, it’s from moves like this. He strategically choked off the board with that move and comes across as a nice guy supporting Sam and the employees.
