Date format proposal:

When numbering months, instead of using numbers 1–12, use 51–62.

Advantage: then you can put dd, mm, and yyyy in any order (and with any separator) with zero ambiguity!

Today could be 02/2022/62

@codesections Is there any real cultural or regional ambiguity to yyyy-mm-dd? Maybe a better question: is there any good reason not to just always use this format, being an international standard that’s both intuitive & sorts well?

Follow

@mwedwards @codesections the way: strings, not numbers. 05-Nov-2000 or Nov-05-2000 . Sorting is no more a problem than for any form other than yyyy-mm-dd .
