Poll: Have you ever compiled #Linux kernel (e.g. https://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/compiling-linux-kernel-26.html)?
@nixCraft just imagine how many more people would be able and willing to do this if the kernel was as quick and easy to compile as #plan9. Maybe we wouldn’t need to package precompiled kernels anymore. And then maybe most packages would be designed for ease of compilation, removing the need for packaging systems.
