Been thinking a lot lately about the conflict between:
- Making the web more open and interoperable with APIs, data exports, and easier search functionality
- The need for privacy and consent with opt-in defaults, protections against data scraping / mining, owned + siloed websites
These values seem fundamentally opposed to me, no? Am I missing something?

Some "mandatory" categorization might also be in order where it is clear which sector is being reported on.
e.g. the #WHO is apparently a private organization (funded by big pharma) but you wouldn't guess that from the news reporting that talks about in the same breath as public instituitions.
this is simuler to what #bluesky has reinvented.
