Theory: (some) people act more irrational because perceived authority figures act more irrational.
Aka "monkey see, monkey do."
Examples would be:
- Trumps barely intelligible communications
- No more "I'm sorry" and resignation if a politician messes up (mainly talking about germany here, this was normal when i was young.)
- Billionaires going to space for fun and other excesses like destroying twitter with obviously ridiculous actions
This might explain what happens. Like people driving like they never drove a car before, spreading covid, ...
@admitsWrongIfProven
I think you're not far off the mark there. There are people who think that anyone rich and influental must simply be someone to be listened to and never be criticized.
But we have plenty of dumb and/or egoistical people inheriting money from their parents or just having a stroke of luck... should we really listen to them? I'd rather want actions speak louder than their bank sheets.
@admitsWrongIfProven Ah then I might not be the right person to discuss this with. I'm pretty much avoiding people whenever I can. ;)
@admitsWrongIfProven Ieuw! Cooties! That's it! I'll tell people that I'm hibernating for the time being! It's almost winter anyway!
@trinsec A good strategy too. I hear people have cooties.
