2/3) The rhetoric and the means used by the Trudeau government is increasing these tensions. Under his definition, even civil rights leaders blocking bridges could have been subject to these measures including the freezing of donations.
Under his policy, the government could freeze the assets and treat BLM protesters as "threatening democracy" for blocking roads or occupying areas.
3/3) The concern is not just the necessity for such heavy-handed measures but the consistency in how these powers are used.
