Imagine if Twitter and Reddit went down too, we'd have to start taking a look at all the bigotry festering across the fediverse and how it manages to thrive here as well instead (gasp!)

@Shrigglepuss At least on fedi an admin can block a whole instance content that is say racist. Users can choose where to sign up to based on the rules, users can also mute or block users or instances.
Control is far better here. Granted it may not be perfect then what is , or define perfect.
if you don't like the rules on an instance the admin can say run your own.
