Also starting from independence, we were mroe leaning towrds socialism.
Problem came due to bad policy low pays and etc set by the government, among other things which caused a very high level of corruption to be commonplace
but I do see some of your points, I kinda do oppose massive globalism for eg

I read on the fediverse a few years ago, a quote from someone quite high up in India. He said something like. By high up I think he was more of a person who was respected , clearly pro independence, but I think he did make a valid point.
"You cannot expect democracy from people who have been subjugated"
