@cat@indieweb.social The problem with them is that their leader has a big house and single glazing, so hardly eco friendly.
I think he has been exposed as a fraud or at least rather hypocritical,
just hope it is not your loved one in the 999 call, when they block the ambulance.
@brian Not sure, but one of their leadership said that he would do just that. Seems to care little about the consequences.
@zleap The government doesn't, either. If they keep doing a crappy job, people will protest. If protests get ignored, they escalate. Right or not, it's a simple mechanism.
@brian yeah, but they want homes insulated, you would think they would start with a leader setting that example.
@zleap Perhaps that leader wants the government to insulate his house. Isn't that what they're demanding?
@brian yes but according to one report he is hardly short of money or properly. So could afford it.
@zleap He's not campaigning to spend his own money doing stuff. He might even think that paying for it himself is setting the wrong precedent. Not everybody sees the same right and wrong.
@brian If the government pays for it, the money comes from taxes anyway, so we pay either way.
@zleap We do, but his share is less. Like we all (ideally) pay for other government stuff, like roads and healthcare and Heathrow.
@brian yeah, well National insurance has gone up to help pay for care services. It had to be done in a way
@zleap Did they ever actually block an ambulance?
