Promote the jobs, but i hear things like "no one looks like me" as a reason not to enter a specific career. counter that by saying you can be the first and pioneer.

Other than that I am not sure, we can at least use this network to promote careers and diversity without some algorithm getting in the way and doing the opposite of what we want.

@zleap

Let me start by saying that I don't have the answers.

"No-one looks like me" is sadly a legitimate issue & doesn't only apply to job opps but also to people 'in nature'. This needs to change (& is) through movements like #MuslimHikers #FlockTogether #Black2Nature & others - often using social media
to organise.

The notion that access to nature is in any way not for absolutely everyone is, IMO, what needs to be dispelled. The challenge then is to facilitate this access

People should be empowered to be pioneers.

One frame of thought, I commented on a LinkedIn Open University post about lack of black people in photos in science. I commented not everyone wants their photo taken, this got a positive response.

So there ARE people of all background, a lot may just want to do their job and not be the 'face' of that job.

Sadly mainstream social media ends up with people being abused, if they post content, so perhaps actually on here things are different and people can be empowered. That encourages others.
