Promote the jobs, but i hear things like "no one looks like me" as a reason not to enter a specific career. counter that by saying you can be the first and pioneer.

Other than that I am not sure, we can at least use this network to promote careers and diversity without some algorithm getting in the way and doing the opposite of what we want.

@zleap

Let me start by saying that I don't have the answers.

"No-one looks like me" is sadly a legitimate issue & doesn't only apply to job opps but also to people 'in nature'. This needs to change (& is) through movements like #MuslimHikers #FlockTogether #Black2Nature & others - often using social media
to organise.

The notion that access to nature is in any way not for absolutely everyone is, IMO, what needs to be dispelled. The challenge then is to facilitate this access

@zleap

Also, being the 1st is scary & puts a lot of pressure on people. Going against systemic prejudice is no small thing! The question then is what can be done to help & support people into these roles.

And what can be done to identify and remove barriers to engagement? Action needs to be taken by those with privelege.

I share your optimism that this social space can be a different one

It seems the move to computers to replace human HR managers can inherit the same prejudice as humans as those same humans write the new systems.

So perhaps we need open source / free software HR software so it can be examined and improved.

A plain text CV, the software could simply be, this would probably work with laTeX, markdown and html

grep <string> file or read in a list of keywords
