Would really like to leave the house one day.

I have not left the house in three years, going on four. But no one takes COVID seriously, even at the beginning of the pandemic.

As a deafblind person, I rely on transit and taking rides from others.

Social-distancing has been disregarded by everyone. Masking, even in medical clinics, halted completely.

Since no one keeps each others safe, I stay inside perpetually. Trust in society completely eroded.

On top of that, I have previous experience with preventing human-to-ferret transmissions of the flu, puppies and parvo, reptiles and nidovirus, inclusion body disease and adenovirus as well as amphibians and chytrids. Plus, being queer prior to the widespread use of PrEP meant keeping everyone informed about our health.

But talking about any topic in the above paragraph with regular people just fly over their heads and I get called paranoid even though having discussions about those things are normal and occur everyday even before the pandemic.
