I've just discovered that there's a petition on the #UK government petitions website to remove #LGBT content from the curriculum, effectively resurrecting the horrendous Section 28 from the 1980s.
There is also a counter-petition. As of this morning, the remove petition has over 178,000 signatures, the counter-petition has just over 2,500 signatures.

I find it amazing how people arguing to remove this, and feel they don't want their kids to learn about LGBT issues in primary school don't seem to realise that the next time one of their kids favourite teams footballers comes out as gay,, the first their kids may do is ask google. What they may find is probably terrifying, where as in a school what they are taught can be taught in a way that is age appropriate, sensitive and supported.
They should be able to ask questions such as what does this mean, without fear.
