There will now be 1000's of adults, telling 100,000's of children adn young people, "told you so"!

@zleap @brosandprose many of those adults will be teachers
I substitute teach after retirement and high school boys would ask me what I thought of him I would say "There is not a jail sentence long enough or a cell small enough to truly give him what he deserves"
Then I would go back to the lesson.
I am retired and don't care if they tell their parents I am disrespectful of their opinion. In fact I would welcome a chance to discuss it with the parental units.

Yes, I agree here. It opens up a great opportunity to have an informed discussion with regard to what he has done and his attitude towards women and why this is seen as undesireable, perhaps also a discussion on how following tate could be awkward if an employer finds out via internet searches.

I remember back in 2003, just before we illegally invaded iraq. In some schools, the kids just went on strike and protested and the teachers just disciplined those doing so, other schools, teachers actually had a discussion on the issue with the students.

@zleap @brosandprose I hated teaching sex ed. especially in a catholic school.

@kimhoar @brosandprose

It was simple when I was at school, but now clearly more complex or seems that way. I really think there was an over reaction, the context to this that this teacher, who normally teaches history was just stepping in.

So in this article we have 11 or 12 year old children with gender dysporia making a complaint that ruins the career of a dedicated teacher, over making a simple statement.

As an archaologist you excavate (which I think is probablyt the right term) a skeleton, look at the bones and try and work out if it belonged to a male or female.

@kimhoar @brosandprose

A simple sit down discussion could have probably solved the whole issue quickly.

On the other hand if kids want to play this way, perhaps we should report them for any offensive comment they make, and not back down.

Which would really in a lot of cases be OTT, could be solved by talking.
