What are the odds Putin threatened to nuke the Wagner column (in the apparent absence of any credible conventional force that could stop Prigozhin from reaching Moscow)?

if Wagner were 200km from Moscow, would some of the nuclear fallout actually fall on Moscow?

@zleap

I don’t know! I also don’t know if Putin would particularly care if he was facing the imminent loss of the capital and potentially his hold on power.

@zleap
Probably, but:

a) Putin wouldn't actually have to intend to drop a nuke. He would just have to persuade Prigozhin that he was *willing* to drop a nuke.

b) From Putin's perspective Wagner troops approaching Moscow would be an existential threat. So the question he'd be asking himself is whether he's be willing to irradiate Moscow to save his own skin. Not just as a political move.

I absolutely believe he’d kill everyone in Moscow to stay alive and in power
