Thanks to social media a lot of people probably only see a small subset of news stories, based on their likes, and other data produced, as a result you end up with people with a single narrative.
People can choose what news to view, and which viewpoints are in their feed,
Really not healthy for anyone

I got the impression this is how Trump ended up winning in the first place, target areas on social media with high immigrant figures with crime reports to imply immigrants are responsible for criminal acts, vote for trump who will build a wall to keep em out.

Yes those who can utilise these tools have the advantage certainly
which is the problem, Twitter is full of far right actors, so what is going to happen come the election is a ready made group who can be utilised to vote for the GOP

Luckily for us, I don't think that X is going to have nearly as much political influence in 2024 as it had in 2016 - 2022 🤞

Given the user base, lets not be too complacent.
I think we should focus on the fedi, give X less of a mention and build what we have here, we have something far better and a massive head start, given the users that seem to be on X.

Did you see the polling results of Murdoch's outlets audience's beliefs about the orange chump's crimes that @GregSargent discussed yesterday.
Provides a prime example of how well some of our nefarious actors are able to take advantage of these media, social or otherwise, bubbles using propaganda for sure.
