This is a challenge that will face geological storage for CO₂ removal (CDR) as well.
Once we do CDR with geological storage, future generations will be on the hook to monitor it forever.

Kind of like with radioactive waste, lets put it in storage and leave it, oh then let future generations monitor and deal with it.
