I am watching this since a longer time in Germany.
Media absorb Russian propaganda and often pass it on unfiltered. Reports like the Wagner uprising are broadcast with delays or news headlines like Putin saying that the Ukrainian offensive has failed. And that on public television. And there are many Russian trolls with German fake profiles on Facebook and other social media channels who spread fake news in a targeted manner.
Here in the UK we seem to have lot of people running loose and looting in places such as Oxford Street London, this is all planned on social media platforms such as TikTok, I think it was recently moved to Portsmouth, but there has been called for this in other places too. along with some other dumb idea to take as many paracetamol as possible, which people clearly oblige and have a go.
The latter if someone dies as a result should go down as 1 death by stupidity, and 2 death by parental neglect, and the parents also prosecuted accordingly.
Social media HAS A LOT to answer for, as do in many cases the PARENTS of these people who seem oblivius to what their offspring are up to.
So with this, and what you describe here, it is just more proof that big tech does not care about anythinbg that happens on their platform, the problem is that any laws, enforcements impacts here too, when we here, actually try and DO SOMETHING about fake news, trolling, and stupid stunts etc.
Not sure if online safety bill will make a difference, but we already have laws on child neglect so if your offspring decide to go to the centre of London and run riot, AND they are under 18 YOU as a parent should face FULL WEIGHT OF THE LAW, as should your offspring.
We are however far too weak and too easily ready to make excuses.
