I was re-reading the pro-Mussolini coverage from the New York Times of the 1920's and 1930's. The rich of that era honestly thought fascism was inevitable in every democracy.

Just like today. The rich will always support anti-democracy movements.

And the violent overthrow of duly elected representatives.

The rich / elite clearly think facism is the only way they can maintain their status and power. They need the press on their side so ensure this happens too.

The US failed to make this illegal after WWII (apparently under the guise of free expression.) We have the issues we do today. It seems the far right are growing in Europe and also globally, slowly taking over in different countries, we seem to have a far right leader in Argentina.

They are achieving through democracy and voting what Hitler and Musolini failed to do during WWII. Removing content from the school curriculum is a way to ensure people don't learn the parts of history that would cause people to question what is going on.
