getting off the isle & to the london protests yesterday was... complicated.

wading through a sunken seaside town. extreme flooding of the train tunnels. the council spent 5 million on creating a flood defence system in recent years, but forgot to put up the new defence barriers in time.

the sea was higher than i've ever seen it. water lapping up at the top of the pierhead. the pull of the full moon... it felt like the whole world was aqueous, upwelling.

I can't share most of my photos as they show people's faces, but I wish there was more coverage of how warm & family-friendly it was.

despite the Daily Mail’s warnings that the incendiary protests would be hijacked by agents from Iran... it turns out that walking through the city w. a lot of kids, and then standing in Parliament square singing, is a pretty loving affair.

the sad thing is that many believe the media reports & are genuinely scared that hate rallies are happening in London.

The daily mail is good for sensationalism and not news. I look at the site to see what rubbish they are writing about to day, then read news from other sources.
