This is NOT good. For refugees or for anyone else.
GPLB: "Sunak says new Rwanda bill will disapply Human Rights Act for small boat deportations"
I am sure a while back, a trafficker used the Human rights act to escape prosecution or at least prison.
Something is not right when this happens.
I got the impression these people just take the money, say to go to location x and are given the boat,
But yes, good point.
Given how dangerous the trip is, they don't care as long as they have money from people who want to get to their destination.
The right wing media have a lot of answer for, as they tend to use on word to describe groups of people within a large spectrum of people. They also pick up on or write stories in such a way they portray immigrants in a bad way. Sure from time to time you get success stories, but that doesn't help their anti immigration cause, hence not very often.
The recent story in the daily mail about the 91 year old care home resident who died from an accident, their English was so poor they were unable to tell emergency staff what happened. This is NOT an issue with immigrants as many can speak English, this to me seems more about managers (or someone) at that care home cutting corners, cutting costs to save money.

Some kind of media reports are certainly a problem, but the classification if someone is a trafficker is also done by politicians, governments and courts, and this is the real issue.

There was some article about this labeling as trafficker, regrettable I've not saved the link. It's at least very often misused and doesn't characterize always people who get money without the risks of the refugees, sometimes even not at all.
