Israel green-lights Cypriot aid plan for Palestinians as military pounds central Gaza – POLITICO
Of course they green light this, they will take over Gaza and then decide how the aid is distributed.
@zleap There are sectors of the Netanyahu administration that would like to do just that...They've tried to shush them some in the news, but I've seen some of the comments...
I get the impression, too, the west bank is also a target.
@zleap Yep. I don't post all the news I've read on it, because my most frequent news sources have slants I'm uncomfortable with as being fair enough to share, but I see enough.
Agreed, the Link I posted from the BBC about google and privacy has the line
"The class action sought at least $5bn (£3.9bn) from the world's go-to search engine and parent company Alphabet."
So the fact they say
"world's go-to search engine"
May not seem very much or significant, until you start thinking on a subliminal level this sort of text works as a way to make people think google = search.
@zleap Don't use Google any more for search, except very rarely, and haven't in a number of years and I definitely don't get my news through them. But we still say "googling" as a synonym for searching in my house. A person who's good at search keywords is said to have good "Google-fu" too...I think the google=search bridge was crossed a long time ago. But yeah, the meme-ification of things impacts our perceptions. Which is why I am somewhat careful on what I share.
Good point, kinda like saying I will face book you or let's have a teams meeting. Or Zoom meeting.
I don't't use any of these services, but our psyche has changed.
Thing is, I can't really say I will Mastodon you, or I will Fediverse you when saying I will send you a message.
Good point, as Mastodon is one part of the fediverse, and saying fediverse is preferred, as it referes to any of the many services, we perhaps need a common verb that fits.
@zleap That would be useful!
Yeah
So what verbal are used on other Fediverse platforms to mean the same as toot?
@zleap not sure. Mastodon is the only part of the fediverse I have much experience with, but that would be a point to start with.
@zleap Last I heard it was toot...but probably it doesn't have widespread use...and non Mastodon folk probably would never have heard of it.
