re: Open-Source work

I think it's important to communicate on those small stuff. It may not be as ground-breaking as linear types, dependent types or record dot syntax, but I want people to know that there are active efforts going on to make the GHC code base more approachable.

tfw you realise you can never know all the intricate details of the things you're interested in, let alone the rest of the world
Just got a merge request approved in #Haskell GHC to stop with the madness of listing every. single. bloody. module. that is loaded in the REPL.
Not preventing you from hurting yourself, but the default will now be "ghci>" like a sensible REPL does (looking at you iex and irb).

anyone else disturbed by the sounds chickens make? if demons were real, that's how i imagine they'd sound

@mansr @byron @natecull nope. before my time. we were facebooking and ... making myspace pages by the time i started on the internet

@byron @mansr @natecull i call that "peer-to-peer", ad hoc, or mesh . the latter tend to have more hardware feel, but avoids asshats like me being butting in 😉

wonder if i could mask a real malware as the EICAR test file 🤔

@mansr @byron @natecull that's a myopic view of decentralization and an inaccurate description of libraries. Librarians communicate between libraries where neither library is the "central" library. Decentralization is about decentralized control and access, and in the case of libraries, control of information - if you can visit two libraries with different collections and policies, I don't see that as "centralized"
