this is your casual reminder that I wrote https://toast.cafe/s/systemd.bash and that it works great thanks
@clacke I have literally never seen anyone use GUSD to mean a billion US dollars: where did you pick that up?
@readsteven if you see a half eaten Snickers mini next, I suggest you leave immediately and alert the authorities. this is not a joke.
(this is completely a joke)
I may have said this before, but there are chickens in my neighbor's yard and the sounds they make some mornings... I just feel very certain I'm hearing chickens orgasming. I've never definitively heard what that sounds like in a hen, but it's what I imagine it would sound like. (I will not even consider searching for what that actually sounds like)
more power to those chickens if that's what it is, but I really don't wanna hear it😑

@maltimore hoo, boy. what was his take on Hitler? Did he think Hitler was some kind of German folk hero??
@izaya this one's a "thinker", huh?
(I don't get it)
Today I did a super cool music research thing. I have been playing this piece, which was written for me and it's based on cymatics, which is about the patterns notes make... and the composer & I want to visualise the music for the deaf community... today I made all the notes!!!!! Got some software to generate the patterns instead of building the very costly plates, and I am so pleased with the initial results! Here's a vid of how it works: #Music #research #cymatics https://www.instagram.com/p/Cbw_YaVgCw3/

Discussion of human space flight, including the possibility of "hibernation" or slowing the human metabolism to reduce caloric requirements for long duration space travel.
@readsteven what are you taking about? this place is amazing!
@izaya only things good about Bourne shell are that it's everywhere and basic scripting of the "run this then run that" variety is simple. even process control beyond that is kinda wonky. maybe I'm just a dummy, but I basically relearn how to properly trap signals and kill child processes every time I write a nontrivial bash script.
