@Acer it doesn't seem to work as intended in modern times — it's more likely to paralyse thought when it's needed the most
if only all the threats were physical and all you needed to do to avoid them is running and climbing fast then sure, but

It has some disadvantages in modern times, but if human lost it, many people might have died in their childhood.

And there might be more people kept in dumb because there is no minimal level of fear to awake them.

And there might be more people calculating/violating/playing against modern rules/laws. Because they are relieved.

Above are just random guesses. More shit might happen.
Fear might need to be overcome in individual levels. But if it is blotted in the society/human level, some fragile normals might be broken.

Another guess is if most people cannot feel fear. Then fear might be a new disability. Then it will cause a lot public budgets. And it is not that physical so people can hardly have empathy.

And if fear is removed, the next one to be questioned and affected might be caution/anxiety/sorrow. People might say emotions are not actions. And they are not useful. We just need actions.
