Yeah alright, the Switch is super successful. It's still Nintendo's weirdest console since, uhm, their last console, the Wii U.

I don't get why there isn't a cheaper, screen-less version of this device. The ergonomics are so lousy I can't play this on the go for more than 10 or 15 minutes anyway. So why do I have this massive OLED display, when all it ever does is sitting in its dock at home?

@fribbledom Well, just because YOU cannot use it as a handheld console, does not mean that others in this whole wide world cannot appreciate having a HANDHELD console, that has the additional benefit of being used as a STATIONARY console. You might not like it, but this is the concept. Nothing weird about it, it is rather ingenious!

@jason

I think you're missing the point. I'm not arguing for taking anyone's handheld away, I just don't get why there isn't a screen-less version of this console.

Probably because it's your only option to play the latest Mario & Zelda games and you'll buy it anyway, but alas...

@fribbledom Why should there be a screen-less version of it? Again, it is NOT the concept. It would create another version that needs to be manufactured and maintained and would just take the focus off. Look how long it took them to come up with the OLED update.

@jason @fribbledom you can literally put a piece of plastic in place of the screen, saving the cost of the screen without changing anything else about the manufacturing.
